Welcome to FernCare!
The mission of FernCare is to provide no-cost medical care to the medically uninsured or
under-insured residents of the area. We define under-insured as those who do not have office visit coverage as part of their insurance policies. The purpose is limited to those activities that are permissible for a 501 (c) (3) tax exempt organization as specified by the Internal Revenue Code.
for obstetric, dental care and sexually transmitted disease treatment and other care beyond our scope of service. The pharmacy will not stock any controlled drugs, narcotics or any highly addictive drug of any sort.We can’t hope to offer this needed service without volunteers. All free clinics are staffed by people who volunteer. There are state and Federal government legal protections for medical staff that volunteer.

The clinic will treat persons from 18 through 64 years of age. It will provide primarily non-emergency maintenance care of chronic illness, do checkups, diagnose and treat acute day-to-day illness, dispense generic medications, and make specialist referrals
The clinic we envision would probably be open once or twice a week to start, expanding as we see the need and have the volunteers to do so.
